Day 8: “Necessary Sacrifices”

They left me alone up here.

Back on Earth, we’d only talked about it. Finding a human specimen to test the effects of life alone on this remote lunar surface. I had actually been the one to say the ethics laws wouldn’t allow for it, because of the high potential for almost certain death. The wheels must have started turning in someone’s head.

I thought it was an accident, Mack unshackling my grappling line that way. My artificial gravity boots just barely kept me anchored. Then they begin to pile into the ship without me.

Three, two, one. Blast off.
